UNHCR Lebanon supports both Lebanese communities and refugees. UNHCR coordinates the protection response for all refugees in Lebanon with the Government, UN agencies, and local and international partners, including registration; protection/border monitoring and advocacy; legal aid; civil documentation; psychosocial support; child protection; prevention and response to gender-based violence; and resettlement to third countries.
Context
UNHCR Lebanon regularly develops public information and emergency communication materials to inform communities, raise awareness about humanitarian needs, and communicate response efforts to a wide range of audiences. Timely and engaging multimedia content helps ensure that critical information reaches affected populations, partners, donors, and the public. To support these efforts, UNHCR Lebanon is seeking Online Volunteers with video editing and multimedia production skills to assist in creating compelling visual stories and emergency public information products that support humanitarian communication objectives. Through this assignment, Online Volunteers will directly contribute to increasing public understanding of refugee issues and supporting humanitarian communication efforts that reach thousands of people across digital platforms. Task description
UNHCR Lebanon is seeking the support an Online Volunteer to assist in the production and editing of short videos and multimedia content for emergency public information and awareness initiatives. The Online Volunteers will support the communication team in transforming raw footage, interviews, photographs, and communication materials into compelling video products that communicate humanitarian needs, response efforts, and key public information messages. Key tasks may include: – Editing short videos for social media and digital platforms. – Producing subtitles, transitions, and basic motion graphics. – Supporting the development of emergency communication videos and awareness materials. – Adapting content into different formats for various communication channels. – Ensuring outputs meet agreed communication objectives and timelines. Expected deliverables per volunteer: -Edited two video products ready for publication. – Create one short-form content optimized for social media platforms. – Update the current three UNHCR multimedia products supporting public information and advocacy efforts.
Assignment requirements
Required Experience
Video editing and multimedia production. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools. Creativity and storytelling skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Good written English.
