Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Video Editor / Videographer located in Beirut, Lebanon. The Video Editor will handle day-to-day tasks such as video production, video editing, video color grading, and motion graphics. The role involves working closely with the creative team to produce high-quality visual content that aligns with Massyve’s standards and clients’ expectations.
Pre-production: Planning the shoot
● Concept development: Meet with clients or creative teams to understand the project’s
vision, goals, and target audience.
● Scripting and storyboarding: Develop a plan for the shots, including outlines for
sequencing, composition, and camera movements.
● Location scouting: Assess potential filming locations for suitability, taking into account
lighting, sound, and other logistical factors.
● Equipment planning: Determine and arrange for all necessary equipment, such as
cameras, lenses, microphones, and lighting gear.
Production: The day of the shoot
● Equipment setup: Arrive early to set up and test all cameras, audio recording devices,
and lighting to ensure everything is working correctly.
● Camera operation: Skillfully operate the video camera to capture high-quality footage
according to the established plan. This includes adjusting focus, exposure, and other
settings.
● Direction: Guide on-screen talent or subjects to capture the desired performance and
visuals.
● Audio capture: Monitor and adjust audio levels to ensure clear sound is recorded, often
managing microphones on set.
● Problem-solving: Adapt to unexpected challenges, like equipment malfunctions,
uncooperative weather, or schedule changes, to keep the shoot on track.
Post-production: Editing and delivery
● Editing footage: Assemble, cut, and rearrange raw video footage to create a compelling
story with a logical, seamless flow.
● Refining visual quality: Perform color correction and color grading to establish a
consistent look and mood for the video. This includes adjusting brightness, contrast, and
saturation.
● Enhancing audio: Integrate and edit audio elements such as dialogue, sound effects,
and music. This includes adjusting levels, removing background noise, and ensuring
audio is synchronized with the video.
● Creating visual effects and graphics: Add motion graphics, animations, titles, and special
effects to enhance the video’s impact.
● Collaborating with stakeholders: Work closely with directors, producers, and marketing
teams throughout the production and post-production process to understand their vision
and incorporate their feedback.
● Managing projects and files: Organize and manage all video and audio assets, often
using an efficient workflow for easy access and collaboration. They must meet project
deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
● Finalizing and exporting: Create final cuts and render or export videos in the appropriate
format and size for distribution on various platforms, such as social media, web, or
broadcast.
