What this role actually is:
This is not a traditional video editing role. This is a performance creative position where video editing is the primary skill but the job is to drive conversions, not just produce content. The last person in this role grew it from video editor into Creative Media Manager collaborating across paid media, organic social, creative, marketing, and influencer teams. We’re not expecting you to start there, but we do expect the ceiling to be high. Therefore we are hiring a Paid Media Video Editor who can bring bold ideas to life that convert, drive revenue through design, and elevate our brand visually across every touchpoint. This role blends strategic paid media, marketing performance, video editing, creative direction, and leadership. As the Paid Media Video Editor whose primary focus is creating ads that convert you will take raw footage (UGC, product clips, internal shoots) and turn it into scroll-stopping, conversion-driven video ads for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. We don’t need cinematic edits, we need clear, smart, persuasive short form videos that make people click “Buy.” You will work underneth the marketing manager.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who moves fast, understands selling through short video form, and thrives in a small business/startup environment where creative output directly impacts revenue.

Your primary mission:
Turn offers, products, and real customer stories into video ads that make people click ‘Buy.’ Every edit you make serves one goal: revenue.
Your main platform is Meta (Facebook + Instagram) and TikTok. You will support organic social content as needed but paid ads are the core focus.
What You’ll DoPaid Ad Content (Primary Focus)
• Create vertical video ads for TikTok, Instagram, Meta & Facebook
• Develop multiple hook variations, angles, and pacing structures
• Edit videos using a clear problem → solution → outcome framework
• Optimize for CTR, thumb-stop rate, retention, and conversion intent
• Build high-performing UGC-style and influencer-style ads
• Repurpose and remix clips into new testable variations
• Select the most compelling 10–15 seconds from longer footage
• Apply strong, readable on-screen copy that drives action
Supporting & UGC / Organic Content (Secondary)
• Edit short-form product + site videos to improve CVR
• Turn influencer + internal footage into organic-style content
• Support TikTok, IG Reels, and Shorts when needed
• Add captions, transitions, sound, and branded elements
• Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on trends and direction
• Continuously analyze performance and refine creative
• You will stay highly organized across assets and projects, maintain structured Google Drive folders, and build clear creative playbooks and SOPs so workflows are repeatable and scalable.
•You will also be responsible for creating clear creative briefs and request docs, proposing ideas for the types of content, clips, angles, and shots needed from the founder, internal team, or UGC creators to produce stronger, higher-converting ad creatives.

• Work fast and prioritize execution over perfection

• Implement feedback quickly so ads can launch and scale
• Maintain strong organization, deadlines, and accountability

Platform & Trend Awareness
• Stay current with TikTok, Meta, and UGC ad trends
• Understand behavior and performance patterns across platforms
• Track cultural + viral hooks relevant to U.S. audiences
• Bring trend-aware concepts that sell, not just trend-match
What We’re Looking For
• Experience editing paid ads or high-performing short-form content
• Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, and storytelling
• Ability to create UGC-style ads that feel authentic but convert
• KPI-driven mindset, you care about results, not just visuals
• Organized, proactive, and comfortable with fast iteration
• Comfortable receiving and giving direct performance feedback
• Able to produce consistent high-volume creative output

Must-Have Skills
• Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools
• Proven ability to structure short-form content for conversion
• Ability to identify and extract the strongest moments from raw clips
• Experience writing or applying strong on-screen copy + messaging
• Understanding of how creative impacts CTR, ROAS, and performance
• Ability to suggest framing, pacing, or direction improvements when needed
Motion graphics experience is a plus.
