Role Description The Supervising Engineer – Arabic will lead on-site engineering activities for water treatment construction projects in Mbout. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for overseeing daily construction operations, coordinating with contractors, technicians, and site staff, and ensuring that work follows approved designs, specifications, and safety standards. The Supervising Engineer will review technical drawings, manage site inspections, monitor quality control, and resolve engineering issues that arise during construction. The role includes planning and tracking project progress, preparing technical and progress reports, and communicating effectively in Arabic and English with local stakeholders, project managers, and clients. The Supervising Engineer will also support resource planning, enforce health and safety procedures, and mentor junior engineers and site personnel.
Qualifications

• Strong background in civil, mechanical, or environmental engineering with direct experience in water treatment or related infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in supervising construction activities, including site coordination, quality control, and adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards.
• Fluency in Arabic with the ability to communicate technical information clearly; working knowledge of English for reporting and coordination.
• Proven skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking using standard construction or project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills in a field environment, with the capacity to handle time-sensitive issues.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise diverse site teams and collaborate with local authorities and subcontractors.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or related field); professional certification or registration is an advantage.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance on construction sites.
• Willingness to work on-site in Mbout and adapt to local conditions and cultural context.
