Silicon Validation Power and Performance Engineer Full Time NEW

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience with post-silicon validation, with a focus on power and performance characterization.
• Experience with embedded systems programming (bare-metal, RTOS, kernel, driver programming).
• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python (for scripting and automation).
• Experience in debugging and root-causing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
• Experience validating multi-core CPU/GPU/APU architectures.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, and thermal chambers.
• Deep understanding of SoC architecture, including interconnects, memory hierarchy, cache coherency, and power management concepts.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), including excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize performance and power models from the architecture team, as well as lab measurements, to validate and tune performance against established goals.
• Exercise open source benchmarks, analyze the results, and find optimization opportunities. Design and build tests to verify that the SoC design meets those targets.
• Analyze complex problems, identify core design weaknesses, and drive the resolution of performance issues in both pre- and post-silicon environments. Collaborate closely with design, validation, and architecture teams to ensure hardware and software designs interface correctly and deliver a product.
• Develop performance measurement frameworks, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to produce regular reports and dashboards that support stakeholder decision-making. Drive efforts to productize features that improve the performance and power characteristics of a design.
• Develop and implement advanced technologies for running “benchmark representations” on pre-silicon environments.
