Job Title: Roll Shop Shift Lead / Senior Stand Guide Fitter
General Summary:
Responsible for leading Roll Shop shift operations, ensuring efficient roll stand builds, guide maintenance, and uninterrupted mill operations. The role focuses on safety, quality, and coordination of daily activities, including shift handovers, troubleshooting, and adherence to HSEQ standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise Roll Shop shift activities and manpower.
Plan and execute roll stand builds as per production program.
Conduct final checks on rolls, guides, and water spray systems before mill entry.
Ensure safe operation of equipment, including overhead and pendant cranes.
Monitor product quality, identify defects, and support troubleshooting.
Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure safe working conditions.
Coordinate with Shift Supervisor and Engineering teams for smooth operations.
Manage guide inspection, repair, fitting, and spare parts requirements.
Prepare and submit roll build and shift reports.
HSEQ Responsibilities:
Ensure strict compliance with HSEQ standards and procedures.
Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety meetings and trainings.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in section mill Roll Shop operations.
Strong knowledge of roll build processes, mill operations, and maintenance.
Experience in crane operations (overhead/jib).
Good planning, troubleshooting, and reporting skills.
Willingness to work in 24/7 shift patterns.
