ABOUT THE ROLE
Cavenaugh Media helps US local business owners, auto shops, contractors, clinics, and home service companies generate a reliable, repeatable stream of qualified leads through paid advertising.
As our Media Buyer, you own the Meta and Google Ads accounts that make that happen.
This is not a traffic role. You are accountable to outcomes: calls, booked appointments, and cost per lead tied to each client’s actual business economics.
You manage accounts proactively, optimize with discipline, and keep the team informed before they have to ask. You report to the Operations Manager and work closely with the Client Success team.
This role works closely with a US-based team, so we’re looking for someone comfortable operating on Central Time (CST) hours, available and responsive during the core workday, regardless of where you’re located.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
• Manage paid campaigns across Meta and Google for a portfolio of local service business clients
• Set up, maintain, and test all lead automations in GoHighLevel (GHL) zero misrouted or lost leads
• Monitor account performance daily: spend pacing, disapprovals, reporting discrepancies, overnight delivery
• Run structured A/B tests on Meta with proper variable isolation and defined spend thresholds before calling results
• Build intent-based Google Search campaigns around local service demand, not vanity volume
• Track creative performance and proactively flag fatigue and volume needs before campaigns are impacted
• Update ClickUp daily with optimizations made, decisions taken, and what you’re watching
• Produce bi-weekly and monthly performance reports in plain language a business owner can act on
PERFORMANCE TARGETS
Meta Ads
Google Ads
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Demonstrated experience running Meta and Google Ads campaigns for local or service-based businesses
• Strong understanding of funnel economics: CPL, close rates, average job value, and how they connect to ad spend decisions
• Experience with GoHighLevel or comparable CRM / lead routing platforms
• Disciplined testing methodology you isolate variables, define spend thresholds, and call winners with data
• Comfortable cross-referencing platform data, attribution tools, and internal reporting to catch discrepancies
• Clear communicator in async environments Slack, ClickUp, and written reports are how you stay visible
• Self-directed: you identify problems before being asked and bring a diagnosis alongside the flag
THIS ROLE IS A STRONG FIT IF YOU
• Check accounts daily, including at end of day, because performance shifts
• Think about scaling decisions in terms of the client’s sales team capacity and seasonal demand, not just CPA
• Stay current on Meta and Google platform changes independently, without waiting to be briefed
• Treat a misrouted lead or a missed automation as your problem to fix, immediately
• Can explain any decision in the account campaign structure, budget allocation, why you killed an ad at a certain spend threshold
