Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Data Center Construction Full Time NEW

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of large scale Data Center construction projects in Doha, Qatar. The role will be responsible for mechanical design coordination, technical reviews, and supporting the delivery of mission critical infrastructure in line with project, client, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design coordination for Data Center construction projects.
• Review and manage HVAC, cooling, chilled water, ventilation, and mechanical system designs.
• Coordinate with CSA, electrical, commissioning, and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Support design development, technical submittals, value engineering, and design optimisation activities.
• Review consultant and contractor drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Data Center standards, project specifications, local regulations, and international codes.
• Support testing, commissioning, and technical troubleshooting activities during project execution.
• Participate in design workshops, coordination meetings, and client presentations.
• Assist with risk identification, constructability reviews, and project delivery support.

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of mechanical design experience within construction projects.
• Must have Data Center construction project experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, and mission-critical mechanical design.
• Experience working on large-scale or mission-critical facilities projects.
• Proficiency in design coordination tools and engineering software.
• Strong understanding of international design standards and Data Center best practices.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
• Candidates should currently be located within the GCC region.

Salary

• QAR 180,000 per annum
