Palomba General Trading LLC is expanding its European footprint in the pharmaceutical flavour and functional ingredients sector, with a strong focus on Germany and Italy.
We are looking for a Senior Account Manager capable of operating at the intersection of commercial strategy, technical understanding and client development, with direct exposure to pharma, nutraceutical and functional product manufacturers.
This role is designed for a professional who does not simply “manage accounts”, but actively builds business, develops markets and drives high-value relationships with key industry players.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of strategic clients in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors, focusing on flavour systems, masking technologies and functional ingredient positioning.
You will work closely with formulation teams, R&D departments and procurement managers to position high-performance flavour solutions in real applications, especially where taste masking, sensory optimization and compliance are critical.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead business development across Germany and Italy, identifying and converting new opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients. The role requires a deep understanding of pharma applications, including syrups, suspensions, powders, chewables, gummies and functional beverages.
A critical part of your mission will be the ability to translate technical features into commercial value, supporting clients in solving real formulation challenges such as off-notes from active ingredients (e.g. botanicals, collagen, omega-3, APIs).
You will also coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure fast execution, including sampling, pricing strategy and project follow-up.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior professional with at least 7–10 years of experience in the flavour, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical ingredients industry.
A strong network in Germany and/or Italy is essential, particularly with:
– pharmaceutical companies
– nutraceutical brands
– CMOs / CDMOs
– formulation and R&D teams
You should be comfortable discussing both technical and commercial aspects, with a proven track record in closing deals and developing long-term partnerships.
Fluency in English is mandatory, while German and/or Italian are considered a strong advantage.
What We Offer
This role offers a high level of autonomy and direct exposure to international markets, with the opportunity to shape and scale a growing business platform between Europe and the GCC region.
Compensation reflects the seniority of the position, with an expected package in the range of:
€120,000 – €180,000 total compensation, depending on experience and performance structure, including fixed salary and performance-based incentives.
The role includes travel budgets, access to major industry events (such as Vitafoods Europe), and the possibility to grow into a regional leadership position.
