Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to develop, implement, and evaluates organization-wide safety training and development programs at HMC to strengthen safety culture, reduce risk, and ensure regulatory compliance; collaborate with departments to assess needs, design curricula, deliver training, and monitor competency and certification ensuring training goals and objectives are achieved.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and coordinate the organization-wide safety training program aligned to HMC goals and workforce needs.
- Conduct training needs analyses (surveys, interviews, data review) in consultation with managers and staff.
- Design, develop and review training material, modules and programs related to the trainings
- Deliver safety training courses (e.g., fire safety, hazardous materials, radiation), including demonstrations and scenario-based exercises; coordinate experts from other departments as required.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using surveys, observations, assessments and implement improvements.
- Obtain information on work-related external courses, prepare reports on their suitability and make recommendations on staff attendance at training courses
- Organize and coordinate the training schedule with different departments to cover all HMC staff
- Coordinate scheduling, enrollment, and tracking of staff attendance and re-certification (retraining) for mandatory safety training, ensuring full coverage and timely renewals.
- Provide induction safety training for new hires and job safety development sessions for existing staff.
- Coordinate work-experience and outreach activities with schools, including safety career talks.
- Complies with HMC policies and procedures and in particular infection control, safety and quality management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Science, Engineering or related field.
Experience
5 years of experience in safety out of which 2 years in delivering safety related trainings.
