Product Care Engineer – R&D Department (0–2 Years Experience)
Reporting to: Product Care Manager
Location: 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt (Factory Site)
Role Purpose
The Product Care Engineer is responsible for supporting product cost optimization, quality improvement, and manufacturing problem-solving activities throughout the product lifecycle. The role works closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Product Line teams to support product performance, cost competitiveness, and successful product launches.
This position is suitable for fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience who are eager to develop their technical and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support product cost optimization activities through BOM updates and engineering changes.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support the implementation and follow-up of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvement activities.
- Participate in executing action plans related to product and process optimization.
- Assist in System, Cost, and Quality Reliability (SCR) improvement projects.
- Monitor assigned improvement actions and provide progress updates.
- Support cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives across factories when required.
- Collaborate with different teams to share best practices and lessons learned.
- Support manufacturing teams in troubleshooting daily production issues.
- Assist in identifying and implementing technical solutions to minimize production disruptions.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and product ramp-up activities.
- Ensure smooth transition from development to mass production under the guidance of senior team members.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Line teams on technical changes and product requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and platform development activities.
- Support documentation of production and field issues and maintain lessons learned records.
- Provide technical support for product-related issues within the factory.
- Assist in resolving engineering and production challenges in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in R&D, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, or related areas.
- Fresh graduates with internships, academic projects, or relevant industrial training are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, preferably in home appliances or industrial products.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM) and engineering documentation.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) concepts.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, or FMEA is a plus.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management concepts.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or similar) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
