Position Overview
Blueprint Engineering Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Part-Time Engineering Office Manager to support and oversee daily engineering operations. This role is ideal for a senior structural professional with strong technical expertise in structural steel design who is looking for a flexible leadership position.
The ideal candidate will combine deep engineering knowledge with organizational and operational management skills to ensure efficient project execution and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily engineering office operations and workflow management
- Review structural steel design calculations, connection designs, and drawings
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards (AISC, IBC, ASCE, etc.)
- Coordinate with clients, fabricators, and contractors to address technical inquiries
- Assist with proposal preparation, budgeting, and project scheduling
- Maintain quality control procedures and document management systems
- Support business development and technical staffing coordination when needed
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in Structural Steel Design
- Strong knowledge of AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and related standards
- Experience with connection design and steel detailing coordination
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, RISA, STAAD, ETABS, or similar)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with steel fabricators and industrial projects
- Familiarity with estimating and proposal development
