Founded in 2004, Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) is a women-led nonprofit dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. WEO focuses on improving women’s social, economic, and political roles, while working to eliminate all forms of violence against women. Through its key sectors of Protection, Livelihoods, Advocacy, and Humanitarian efforts, the organization provides socio-economic and psychological support, legal assistance, capacity building, access to finance, and promotes policies for sustainable peace and security.

Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Outreach Assistant to join our team on-site in ئێتیتا نوی. In this role, you will support the planning and implementation of community outreach programs, assist with event coordination, and engage directly with community members to build relationships. Additional responsibilities include conducting research to identify community needs, maintaining records of outreach activities, and providing exceptional customer service to stakeholders. You will work closely with the team to promote WEO’s mission and expand its impact.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse groups and individuals
• Experience in Community Outreach and Customer Service, with a focus on building relationships and serving community needs
• Proficiency in Research and the ability to analyze community data to inform program development
• Passion for women’s empowerment and gender equality
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
• Prior experience in a nonprofit or social services organization is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Community Development, or a related discipline
