Bachelor’s degree in network or telecom engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in optical transmissions systems (dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM)), local area network (LAN)/wireless protocols, or transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP).
Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment (e.g., installation, commissioning, and network troubleshooting).
Experience in creating optical designs using vendor design tools, applying technical judgment to a given optical design, and translating them to bits on the wire.
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: layer 1 (L1) optical transmissions systems, layer 3 (L3) routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Proficiency in new product introduction (NPI) and writing test plan documents in a laboratory or staging environment.
Understanding of optical design trade-offs and maintain awareness of transaction language 1 (TL1)/command line interface (CLI) automation.
Ability to identify repetitive work and propose automation for small workflows.
