2. Job Purpose

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Logistics Supervisor based in Senegal. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transportation, distribution, and delivery of goods while optimizing fleet operations. This role ensures efficient routing, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, cost control, and overall logistics performance to support the manufacturing process and customer satisfaction.

3. Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute logistics plans that support production schedules, customer delivery requirements, and supply chain efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with procurement, production, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless material flow.
• Suggest improvements within the logistics department in terms of warehousing, workshop, or any submerged function.
• Manage the workflow of the workshop process to avoid any delays and ensure efficient deliveries.
• Coordinate with the team for GPS tracking, making sure the deliveries are cost and time efficient.  
• Monitor daily logistics activities and resolve issues related to delays, routing, and delivery schedules.
• Manage inbound transportation of raw materials, packaging materials, and imported items.
• Work with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure timely pickups, shipments, and customs clearance.
• Track shipments and communicate expected arrival times to warehouse and production teams.
• Plan and schedule dispatch of finished goods to customers and distributors.
• Optimize transport routes and load planning to reduce cost and delivery time.
• Manage relationships with local and international transport providers, freight forwarders, and 3PL logistics partners.
• Conduct performance reviews based on KPIs (on-time delivery, service quality, claims, cost).
• Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant food safety standards 
• Maintain documentation for traceability, transport compliance, and regulatory audits.
• Ensure proper hygiene and temperature control during transportation products.
• Develop and monitor logistics KPIs (OTD, freight cost per ton, freight utilization, transport lead times).
• Analyze logistics costs and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or service levels.
• Prepare monthly logistics performance reports for management.
• Act as the key interface between logistics and warehouse, production planning, procurement, and customer service.
• Provide accurate and timely delivery schedules to internal teams.
• Support Sales and Customer Service with logistics-related information to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

4. Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience as a Logistics Supervisor in the F&B manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, transportation, and inventory management.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
