The Logistics Assistant based in Senegal supports the logistics and supply chain operations of a company by coordinating shipments, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role involves working closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to optimize transportation, storage, and distribution processes.
2. Required skills & qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or Business Administration is a plus).
• Previous experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehousing preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software.
3.Duties & responsibilities
• Assist in planning and coordinating logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery.
• Monitor and track shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any delays or issues.
• Conduct regular driver evaluations, addressing performance, fuel efficiency, and adherence to regulations.
• Monitor fleet performance, vehicle maintenance schedules, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure real-time tracking and visibility of shipments using GPS and telematics systems.
• Manage fuel costs, maintenance, and third-party transportation expenses.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and logistics-related documents.
• Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to streamline logistics processes.
• Prepare and process shipping and receiving documents, invoices, and purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and government requirements.
• Support warehouse operations, including stock management and order fulfillment.
• Assist in cost control by optimizing transportation and procurement strategies.
• Perform administrative tasks related to logistics, such as data entry, filing, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to logistics efficiency.
