Job Summary

The Lead Presenter will serve as one of the primary on-air voices of Radio Bahrain, leading high-profile live programming with a strong focus on audience engagement, personality-driven broadcasting, content leadership, and daily show execution.

The role requires an experienced broadcaster capable of independently leading live radio shows across multiple formats including entertainment, lifestyle, music, topical discussions, interviews, competitions, audience interaction, and station activations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating compelling daily show content, maintaining high broadcast standards, driving audience connection, and contributing to Radio Bahrain’s overall programming strategy and brand positioning.

This is a senior-level broadcasting role requiring strong editorial judgment, exceptional live presentation skills, technical studio confidence, and deep understanding of contemporary radio programming.

The presenter is expected to contribute beyond live links by supporting content ideation, digital extensions, commercial integration, promotional campaigns, social media visibility, event representation, and audience growth initiatives across Radio Bahrain platforms.

The role requires someone who understands how to connect authentically with both local Bahraini audiences and the wider expatriate community while remaining culturally aware, commercially responsible, and editorially sharp.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute high-quality live radio shows throughout the week.
• Deliver engaging live links with strong storytelling, pacing, energy, and personality.
• Prepare daily show structures, talking points, music flow, and audience engagement mechanics.
• Create topical, entertaining, and relatable content aligned with Radio Bahrain’s programming direction.
• Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, artists, public figures, partners, and stakeholders.
• Operate confidently within live studio environments, including broadcast systems, timing structures, clocks, and technical workflows.
• Maintain strong understanding of music scheduling, radio flow, transitions, benchmarks, and programming discipline.
• Work closely with Programming, Commercial, Digital, and Marketing departments to align show output with wider station objectives.
• Support commercial campaigns, sponsor mentions, branded segments, and promotional integrations professionally and naturally on-air.
• Contribute ideas for new programming features, audience engagement concepts, competitions, and special broadcasts.
• Represent Radio Bahrain at external events, activations, outside broadcasts, concerts, and strategic partnerships when required.
• Support social media and digital content creation linked to show content and station initiatives.
• Record promos, station imaging, commercial reads, announcements, and branded content when required.
• Maintain high editorial awareness, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
• Ensure compliance with station policies, broadcast regulations, and brand standards.
• Monitor audience trends, listener feedback, digital engagement, and evolving media consumption habits.
• Assist in mentoring junior presenters, interns, or emerging talent when required.
• Remain flexible with schedules, major events coverage, seasonal campaigns, and special programming requirements.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience as a lead presenter, radio host, or senior live broadcaster within a professional radio environment.
• Demonstrable ability to independently lead daily live radio shows with strong structure, personality, timing, audience interaction, and editorial control.
• Strong track record in live broadcasting, including music-led programming, entertainment content, topical discussions, competitions, interviews, and listener engagement.
• Experience working within professional broadcast clocks, studio workflows, music logs, show rundowns, sponsorship commitments, and live operational discipline.
• Experience conducting live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, artists, public figures, partners, clients, and community representatives.
• Experience supporting commercial integrations, branded segments, sponsor mentions, promotional campaigns, outside broadcasts, and station activations is highly preferred.
• Experience with RCS and Zetta is an advantage.
• Previous experience in the GCC, Bahrain, or a multicultural audience environment is an advantage.
• This is not an entry-level role; applicants must already have credible live on-air experience and a professional aircheck/showreel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Media, Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism, Performing Arts, Audio Production, or a related field is preferred.
• Equivalent professional broadcasting experience may be considered in place of formal academic qualifications.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential; Arabic language ability is an advantage.
• Professional demo reel, aircheck, showreel, or recent live broadcast samples are required for assessment.

Broadcast & Presentation Skills

• Exceptional live presentation ability with strong voice control, pacing, tone, timing, warmth, humour, storytelling, and audience connection.
• Ability to lead a live show confidently without over-reliance on scripts, while still preparing clear show structures, links, talking points, and segment plans.
• Strong understanding of radio flow, music positioning, link length, transitions, back-timing, benchmarks, teases, call-to-action delivery, and show discipline.
• Ability to respond naturally to live situations, breaking developments, listener interaction, technical issues, guest changes, and time-sensitive programming requirements.

Technical & Production Skills

• Confident working in a live studio environment, including microphones, playout systems, studio clocks, audio levels, headphones, cues, logs, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to record voice tracks, promos, station imaging, commercial reads, announcements, sponsored content, and presenter-led digital/audio assets.
• Basic understanding of audio editing, show preparation tools, digital content workflows, and social media content formats is preferred.

Content, Editorial & Commercial Awareness

• Strong editorial judgement, cultural awareness, and understanding of what is appropriate for a national English-language radio brand in Bahrain.
• Ability to create relatable daily content for both Bahraini and expatriate audiences while remaining aligned with Radio Bahrain’s tone, values, and brand standards.
• Commercially aware and comfortable delivering sponsor messages, branded segments, competitions, promotions, and client-related content in a natural and credible manner.
• Understands the role of presenters beyond radio, including social media visibility, digital content, events, audience loyalty, and brand representation.
