Location: Cairo, Egypt (Design Extension Office for a Qatari Consultancy)

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Fire Fighting & Plumbing Design Engineer with a minimum of 10-12 years of specialized experience in Public Health and Fire Protection systems. The successful candidate will lead the FF & PL department in our Cairo office, managing a dedicated team of engineers and BIM/CAD modelers, ensuring all designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and fully compliant with Qatari authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Department Leadership: Full management of the Fire Fighting and Plumbing department, overseeing task allocation, team mentorship, and supervising the production of all technical drawings and documents.

• Design Excellence: Leading the design process for various systems, including Water Supply, Drainage, Stormwater, Fire Suppression (Sprinklers, Clean Agent, Foam), and Fire Hydrant systems.

• Technical Authority: Performing and reviewing hydraulic calculations (using specialized software), pump head calculations, pipe sizing, and selection of mechanical equipment and specialized fire protection systems.

• Quality Control: Conducting thorough technical audits and QC reviews on all calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure error-free submissions to clients and authorities.

• Interdisciplinary Coordination: Leading coordination efforts with HVAC, Electrical, Architectural, and Structural teams to ensure a clash-free integrated design, particularly in complex plant rooms and riser shafts.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: 10–12 years of solid design experience in Fire Fighting and Plumbing within reputable MEP consultancy firms.

• Regional Expertise: Strong preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record in Qatar-based projects.

• Codes & Standards: Expert knowledge of international codes, specifically NFPA, IPC (International Plumbing Code), and ASPE standards.

• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, and Hydraulic Calculation software (such as Elite or Pipe-Flo) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

• Extensive experience in preparing submittal packages for QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department) and KAHRAMAA (Water/Drainage) approvals.

• Familiarity with QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications) and local Lusail/Doha municipality guidelines.

• Strong command of English (Technical Writing and Verbal communication).

• Proactive leadership style with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
