About the Role:
As a French/Arabic Teacher for Adult Non-Native Speakers in Beirut, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and effective French/Arabic language lessons tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of our adult learners. Your primary goal will be to foster a supportive and interactive learning environment where students can develop their French/Arabic language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
All classes will take place on-site in Beirut during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM.
**Please note that this position is not yet funded. We are seeking applicants for an anticipated future position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the curriculum objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Facilitate dynamic and interactive French/Arabic language classes, incorporating a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and cultural exchange among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, program improvement, and assessment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in French and/or Arabic language.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in French/Arabic language, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in teaching French/Arabic to adult non-native speakers, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of language teaching methodologies and strategies, including communicative language teaching (CLT) and proficiency-based instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse learners and create a supportive learning environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity in lesson planning and delivery.
- Certification(s) in French/Arabic language teaching.
- Located in Beirut and able to commute for in-person teaching.
