JOB SUMMARY:

The College of Healthcare Technologies awards a Bachelor of Science degree in Anesthesia Technology, with a focus on practical simulation of clinical procedures. This position is for an instructor in this field.

Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

Key Responsibility:

Areas of Accountabilities: Main Activities

• Teach basic and advanced theoretical and laboratory courses for undergraduate and postgraduate anesthesia technology students, including a simulation laboratory.
• Participate in designing modules and programs in novel anesthesia technology and domains to reflect the latest developments in the field.
• Develop and lead multidisciplinary research collaborations in anesthesia technology leading to publications in reputed journals and establish an extramurally funded research programs that augment the research directions of the college.
• Contribute to development of testing and research facilities and laboratories in the College of Healthcare Technologies.
• Contribute to advancing anesthesia technology in the region through designing and delivering various continuous education (CE) programs.
• Be involved in assessment and committee work at the College and the University
• Have strong commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

A: Education:

• Master’s degree from a reputed university with experience in Anesthesia Technology or a closely related field. Candidates with education and experience in US and US-styled educational institutions will be preferred.

B: Experience: Years/Type of Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a reputed university.
• Preference will be also given to candidates with research credentials and interests in any of the areas of anesthesia technology and anesthesia hygiene and related fields.

C:Competencies ( Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ):

• Interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills in English and familiarity with the American system of higher education.
