Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Irrigation Specialist role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Irrigation Specialist will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining irrigation systems for large-scale urban landscapes, including inspection of pipelines, valves, pumps, controllers, and sprinklers to ensure optimal performance. The role involves monitoring water usage, adjusting schedules, and calibrating systems to support water conservation and plant health, as well as diagnosing and repairing leaks, clogs, and electrical faults. The specialist will coordinate with landscape, maintenance, and facility teams to plan irrigation layouts, support new projects, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. Daily tasks also include maintaining accurate records, preparing basic reports, and suggesting improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Qualifications
Experience in irrigation system installation, operation, and maintenance, including drip, sprinkler, and automated systems for large or complex sites.
Knowledge of water management, soil and plant water needs, and sustainable irrigation practices, with a focus on efficiency and conservation.
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues in irrigation equipment and control systems.
Familiarity with irrigation controllers, sensors, and, where applicable, smart or centralized control platforms.
Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and basic reporting skills to document inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Capability to read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and manufacturer manuals related to irrigation systems.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary operations, landscaping, and facility teams.
Physical ability to perform field work in outdoor environments, including lifting equipment and working in varying weather conditions.
Relevant technical diploma or vocational training in irrigation, agriculture, landscaping, civil, or mechanical fields; a related bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
Previous experience in large-scale urban developments, facilities management, or giga-project environments is preferred.
