The Inventory Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of inventory records across the organization. The role monitors inventory transactions, performs stock reconciliations, supports inventory valuation and costing activities, and maintains accurate product master data within the ERP system. The position works closely with warehouse, production, operations, and finance teams to ensure effective inventory management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Monitoring & Control
▪Monitor and verify daily inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments, and returns.
▪Perform cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and regular spot checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
▪Investigate inventory discrepancies and reconcile physical stock with ERP records.
▪Monitor inventory movements and identify unusual transactions or stock variances.
▪Follow up on missing or incomplete documentation related to inventory transactions.
▪Coordinate with warehouse and operational teams to ensure compliance with inventory control procedures.
▪Support month-end and year-end inventory closing activities.
Inventory Analysis & Reporting
▪Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc inventory reports.
▪Monitor inventory levels and identify negative stock balances.
▪Analyze slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory and recommend corrective actions.
▪Support management with inventory performance analysis and stock optimization initiatives.
▪Assist in inventory audits and provide supporting documentation when required.
ERP Master Data Management
▪Create and maintain item master records within the ERP system.
▪Ensure accurate maintenance of item information, including descriptions, units of measure, pricing, and product specifications.
▪Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure system accuracy.
▪Monitor BOM accuracy and coordinate updates with production and relevant departments.
Production & Inventory Transactions
▪Create and process production orders within the ERP system.
▪Create and manage transfer orders between warehouses and locations.
▪Ensure all inventory-related transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
▪Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to resolve transaction discrepancies.
Costing & Inventory Valuation
▪Support inventory valuation and costing activities.
▪Calculate product costs and maintain updated cost sheets.
▪Assist in reviewing standard costs and inventory valuation reports.
▪Support finance teams during costing reviews and inventory reconciliations.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
▪Ensure adherence to company inventory policies, procedures, and internal controls.
▪Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
▪Participate in internal and external audits related to inventory management.
Job Requirements
▪Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
▪Experience: 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, inventory accounting, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
▪Linguistic Skills: Fluency in Arabic and English is required; proficiency in French is considered an advantage
▪Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. ERP experience is a must.
