Industrial Outreach & Employment Officer
Job Title: Industrial Outreach & Employment Officer
Reports to: Head of Employment Unit
• Fieldwork: 50% – Office Work: 50%
Major Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Identifies, develops and maintains strong relationships with employers and collaborative partners within the community and promotes the services of the Employment Unit to them.
• Reviews job descriptions for advertised vacancies and ensures they meet EPU standards.
• Develops, manages and maintains an up-to-date database of employer, vacancies and job seekers as well.
• Conducts workshops and orientation sessions for employers on job search, recruitment and staff development.
• Identifies employer requirements for staff and workers and their needed qualifications.
• Identifies and interviews potential candidates to fill in each job vacancy.
• Coordinates project tasks related to OSH activities.
• Regularly meet with job seekers to determine interests and needs.
• Provides career guidance to job seekers to develop career plans & identifies options for career advancement.
• Provides employers with suitable candidates to fill in announced vacancies & participates in the interviews.
• Follows up with employers on selected candidates.
• Identifies and reports on skill gaps to guide the EU on priority vocational and soft skills training needs.
• Conducts field visits to different industrial zones in Amman and surrounding areas, follow-ups with employers.
• Identifies the job seekers’ eligibility for benefiting from employment measures and incentives and supervises disbursement.
• Assesses the suitability of workplaces to ensure that decent work criteria are met.
• Monitors and evaluate the processes outcomes, identifies gaps and lessons learnt and amend as needed.
• Identifies, develops and maintains strong relationships with training providers.
• Coordinates with the employers on hired job seekers training needs (vocational and soft skills).
• Coordinates with the training providers to design appropriate core employability training programs.
• Supervises of the entire logistical preparation of the training programs.
• Monitors and evaluates all training events, identifies gaps and lessons learnt and amend the process.
• Reports on results, challenges and risks.
• Assists in planning, designing and executing employment promotion events and campaigns.
• Readiness to conduct training on soft skills when needed.
• Supports the design, implementation and reporting of M&E tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, project management, or other related fields.
Professional Experience:
• At least 4 years of professional experience in youth placement or employment, Experience in previous similar assignments is an advantage.
• Good report writing, presentation development and follow-up skills.
• Experience with employment programs or NGOs or community-based organization (CBO’s) is preferable.
Skills & Competences:
• Good experience in working with ITC technologies (relevant software, phone, email, internet) and computer applications (e.g., MS Office, MS Teams).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English for effective interaction with stakeholders, team members, and partners.
• Capacity to identify challenges, propose solutions, and adapt strategies as needed to overcome obstacles during project execution
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and milestones effectively.
• A commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
