We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hydrology Engineer, to join at our Riyadh office, KSA.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse data related to rainfall, precipitation analysis, Surface runoff, flood risks, flood control and storm water management in consideration of Environment and ecosystem.
Hydraulic modelling, floodplain management, water delineation studies, and environmental impact assessment.
Design and implement stormwater management systems, including drainage networks, detention ponds, and erosion control measures.
Addressing challenges related to erosion, flooding, and sediment transport.
Responsible for performing the Hydrology analysis and storm water management for the Renewable (PV Solar, BESS, Wind) projects, Substation Projects and Utility Power Distribution Projects.
Rainfall analysis, peak flow analysis & hydraulic modelling including watershed morphology (delineate watershed, existing stream, lag time & time of concentration)
Compute discharge at all outlets of the watershed and generate the respective discharge hydrographs to determine the flood potentiality and detailed flood study.
Flood mitigation work for the site including drainage and water treatment, including concept for rain and storm water, freshwater and sewage water, handling of oily and environmental harmful liquids covering total plant area and Site facilities
To identify the hydraulic constraints limiting the use of the project area.
Identify flood mitigation arrangement and recommendation to align the project requirements.
Detailed Hydro-meteorology survey
Determination of flood potentiality and flood study of the project by performing hydrological and hydraulic modelling
On-site review of waterways and delimitation of conditions of lows to determine design flood hyetographs and the hydraulic constraints limiting the use of the project area
Hydrological assessment (input information for hydro numeric or GIS based modelling) including identification of vulnerable areas with hydrodynamic modelling of relevant runoff pathways and delineation of potential flood plains for the 100-year
Flood mitigation arrangement and recommendation based on rainwater discharge time from plant boundary
Qualifications & Skills:
3+ years of experience (with min. 1 – 2 years’ experience in real time projects / industrial experience) in the field of Hydrology and water resources management
Master’s in Hydrology and water resources engineering or Hydrology
Technical Expertise:
Should be Proficient in following areas:
Precipitation Analysis, Surface Water Hydrology, Water resource modelling, Flood Control and Stormwater Management, Environmental and Ecosystem Considerations
Determination of design flood hyetographs to produce maximum grids: extent, level, depth, and velocity for design storm events under baseline and mitigation scenarios to overcome construction challenges.
Flood mitigation measurements and recommendations to improve the facility in the project area
Good field experience to anticipate and identify challenges to the actual construction of the project before a project moves on from design to construction phase.
In depth understanding of the project’s costs, timelines and build-ability issues to provide appropriate solutions in design phase.
