Head of Software Engineering — Capital Markets Technology

Department: Technology & Engineering

Team Building & Management

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team spanning:
• Mobile (Kotlin, Android, Swift, SwiftUI, iOS)
• Frontend (Vue.js, JavaScript)
• Backend (.NET Core, .NET Framework, Microservices)
• Database (Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle APEX)
• Establish clear career paths, performance frameworks, and learning initiatives
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Delivery & Execution

• Oversee end-to-end engineering delivery from planning to release
• Implement effective metrics and KPIs — velocity, defect rates, uptime, deployment frequency
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, agile ceremonies, and engineering best practices
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams
• Represent Engineering in executive discussions, steering committees, and strategic planning forums
• Provide technical input for business cases, regulatory initiatives, and investment proposals

Experience & Background

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and delivery
• Minimum 5 years in engineering management or leadership — ideally in fintech, capital markets, or trading systems
• Proven experience scaling engineering teams across multiple domains and platforms
• Background from top-tier fintech, trading, or capital markets technology companies strongly preferred

Technical Depth — Hands-on experience in one or more of:

• Mobile: Kotlin, Android, Swift, SwiftUI, iOS
• Frontend: Vue.js, JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks
• Backend: .NET Core, .NET Framework, Microservices architecture
• Database & Integration: Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, REST APIs

Engineering Practices

• Deep familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, Agile/Scrum, TDD, observability, and automated testing
• Demonstrated success building DevOps cultures and engineering excellence programs
• Experience with microservices architecture at scale
