Gold Mining JV Project Manager Full Time NEW

Purpose:

Responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the newly formed joint venture and ensures the execution of the shareholder’s joint exploration and resource definition, project development and assessment through to mining strategy and operational minesite. Drives value creation through ensuring safe business operations, efficient implementation, innovation and development of the team, and adherence to timelines and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver the JV’s work program as committed to MIM.
• Develop and deliver work programs in line with the project requirements and exploration results to meet project timelines.
• Manage operational functions and ensure the delivery of plans.
• Assess and optimise the future mining project.
• Ensure safe operation of exploration, project definition and assessment, construction and mining activities.
• Manage costs within budgets.
• Maintain timely and accurate reporting to shareholders and MIM.
• Deliver robust standards of governance including on procurement.
• Lead the development of strong leadership teams and foster a safe, high-performance delivery culture across all levels.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, and regulatory requirements and play a leading role in the application for a mining licence.
• Represent both sets of shareholder interests on the joint venture.
• Ensure positive engagement with local communities and stakeholders in relation to the project.

Qualifications:

▪ Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, mineral processing, or a related field

▪ Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or health and safety certification is desirable

▪ Driving licence from KSA or that can be converted to KSA (international)

Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining industry (specifically Gold), with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of managing advanced exploration projects and delivering feasibility studies
• Experience of coordinating multidisciplinary teams and transitioning projects from exploration into development and operation.
• Experience in the establishment of new projects including the development of policy, training and HSE procedures.
• Strong understanding of structurally controlled gold deposits, open pit mining and precious metal processing options.

The role will work on a FIFO basis, remote location, for 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
