Environmental Health Safety Section Head Full Time NEW

Katameya Downtown is seeking a seasoned HSE professional to lead the Health, Safety & Environment function across our integrated mall and business park complex in New Cairo. The Safety Section Head will be the primary authority on all HSE matters — setting standards, building a proactive safety culture, and ensuring full regulatory compliance across a high-footfall, mixed-use environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the site-wide HSE management system in alignment with Egyptian labor law and international EHS standards
• Lead periodic safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all zones (retail, office, parking, F&B, service corridors, and common areas)
• Investigate incidents, near-misses, and hazards — delivering root cause analysis and corrective action plans
• Design and deliver safety induction and ongoing training programs for staff, contractors, and tenants
• Coordinate with contractors and fit-out teams to enforce safety compliance during construction and renovation works
• Maintain all HSE documentation, permits, and regulatory filings
• Liaise with civil defense, fire authorities, and relevant government bodies
• Prepare and present HSE performance reports and KPIs to senior management
• Develop and rehearse emergency response and evacuation plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or Occupational Health / Environmental Science
• 7–10 years of HSE experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a large-scale mall, compound, or mixed-use commercial development
• Strong command of Egyptian HSE regulations and familiarity with international frameworks (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, NFPA)
• Proven experience managing contractor safety and fit-out compliance
• Solid background in emergency preparedness, fire safety systems, and civil defense requirements
• Professional HSE certification is required (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent)
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
• Proficiency in HSE reporting tools and documentation systems
