The Manager, Engagement leads EGA’s Engagement Management function, overseeing a team of Engagement Managers who serve as the primary and enduring interface between EGA and assigned RAK government departments. The role combines section leadership with personal account ownership: the Manager, Engagement directly manages a portfolio of key government department relationships while providing direction, quality oversight, and professional development to a team of five Engagement Managers.
Engagement Managers are EGA’s long-term relationship owners within government. They are not responsible for project delivery or service operations; their mandate is to maintain deep understanding of each department’s business context, priorities, and evolving needs, and to ensure those needs are clearly represented within EGA and reflected in planning, delivery, and service decisions. The Manager, Engagement sets the standard for how this function operates, ensures consistency of practice across the team, and serves as the most senior relationship authority within the section.
The role requires strong interpersonal and cultural fluency, particularly in Arabic, given that government department stakeholders are predominantly Arabic-speaking and relationship quality depends significantly on the ability to communicate naturally, build trust, and navigate government culture effectively. The Manager, Engagement is expected to model this capability and ensure it is a defining characteristic of the entire team.
