Role Description

As an Electrical BIM Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and delivering high‑quality electrical BIM models for a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. You will collaborate with design teams, project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate, clash‑free, and constructible electrical systems within a connected BIM ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Coordination

• Develop detailed electrical BIM models (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, communication systems, grounding, etc.) in Revit.
• Maintain model accuracy, element connectivity, and adherence to internal and project standards.
• Participate in multi‑disciplinary coordination, identifying and resolving clashes in collaboration with structural, mechanical, and architectural teams.
• Prepare electrical BIM deliverables including plans, diagrams, schedules, and as‑built models.

Collaboration & Support

• Work within cloud‑based collaboration platforms (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro) to manage models, track issues, and coordinate revisions.
• Support project teams with BIM‑related questions, tools, and best practices.
• Attend coordination meetings and contribute to design discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Quality Assurance

• Perform model audits to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with BIM Execution Plans.
• Implement best practices for work-sharing, model health, and data organization.

Innovation & Improvement

• Utilize automation tools, Dynamo scripts, and plug‑ins to improve modeling efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM standards, templates, and workflows.

Qualifications

Required

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience in electrical BIM modeling using Autodesk Revit.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and construction practices.
• Hands‑on experience with BIM coordination processes and clash resolution tools (e.g., Navisworks Manage).
• Familiarity with cloud‑based BIM workflows (ACC/BIM 360, BIM Collaborate Pro).

Preferred

• Experience working on commercial, institutional, or large multi‑trade projects.
• Knowledge of Dynamo, scripting, or automation tools.
• Understanding of National and Provincial electrical codes (Ontario preferred).
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
