Drilling Engineer Full Time

Geo-Jade Petroleum – South Basra Integrated Project (SBIPRO) is seeking an experienced ( Iraqi Candidate ) Drilling Engineer with 10 years solid Oil & Gas experience . This role works with on Daily / or rotation basis based in Basra Iraq.

• The drilling engineer role focuses on real-time operational support, monitoring drilling parameters (ROP, torque/drag, mud properties), preparing daily reports, and coordinating with rig crews under Senior guidance to optimize performance and minimize NPT.

The position emphasizes rapid skill development via shadowing seniors, post-well reviews, and training to transition toward independent engineering responsibilities over time.

Key deliverables

• Support to coordinate with subsurface team on SOR development and subsurface requirements.
• Participate in drill the well on paper exercises, risk register development & management, and materials forecasting for area of responsibility.
• Coordinating drilling procurement activities such as preparing bid documents, evaluating technical and financial proposals, managing contracts for drilling services, materials, and equipment, and ensuring compliance with purchase standards.
• Coordinate with turnkey service’s product line program development with turnkey services providers.
• Seek experience in bit selection and optimization with the consignment and bundled services directional drillers.
• Delivery of safe and environmentally sound drilling engineering solutions. Seek guidance for the hiccups & add value in preparation of quality engineering documents.

• Delivery of end of well reports including bit records, lessons learned, NPT analysis, and optimization recommendations.
• Complying company’s core HSE principles.
• Supporting drilling operations by monitoring daily drilling activities, providing technical support to onshore teams, and ensuring operations meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Support drilling engineering office team for logistics plans, vendor scopes, and compliance documentation (permits, barrier verifications) to ensure regulatory adherence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Minimum Experience & Job-Specific Skills:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in drilling engineering / operations.
• Basic knowledge of drilling basis of design, engineering and planning is essential.
• knowledge of drilling contracts and related aspects.
• Knowledge of all turnkey / bundled services product lines like drilling fluid, cementing, TRS, liner hangers and fishing etc.
• Ability to manage time & meet work plan deadlines.
• Strong team player and good communication skills

Experience of working in an integrated drilling project would be preferred.
