Disputes Management Officer Full Time

Areeba is seeking a “Disputes Management Officer” (Issuing & Acquiring) responsible for managing the end-to-end dispute and chargeback lifecycle across issuing and acquiring activities. The role ensures timely processing, compliance with card scheme regulations, and effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the full dispute and chargeback lifecycle, including representments, pre-arbitrations, and fraud claims.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of disputes in line with card scheme deadlines and SLAs.
• Prioritize cases based on financial exposure, urgency, and scheme timeframes.
• Monitor queues, workloads, and performance to meet operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with Visa, Mastercard, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support client banks, cardholders, and acquiring teams with clear communication on case status and outcomes.
• Perform control on reconciliation accounts.
• Maintain and update procedures and operational manuals.
• Monitor Visa and Mastercard fraud and chargeback programs (GMAP, MRP, ECM, CMM).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in card disputes/chargebacks.
• Strong understanding of issuing & acquiring processes, card schemes, and dispute regulations.
• Proficiency in Visa Resolve Online (VROL), MasterCom, and chargeback management platforms.
• Knowledge of payment systems.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.
