Act on behalf of the Department Manager in all duties and responsibilities during their absence or when assigned to a different shift.
Ensure the implementation of the rotation plan for the daily allocation of lifeguards across saunas and lockers.
Assist in preparing the annual estimated budget, including manpower and equipment requirements.
Support in identifying the swimming pools’ needs for tools and operational equipment.
Develop work schedules for team members, covering both morning and evening shifts.
Organize and oversee the swimming pool usage schedule, including women’s hours, children’s hours, and training sessions, ensure that schedules are clearly communicated to members.
Monitor the implementation of the operational plan across all employee levels within the swimming pools.
Supervise the staff to ensure tasks are carried out according to the established plan and that safety regulations are strictly followed.
Review and approve purchase requests in the absence of the Swimming Pool Manager.
Supervise the fulfillment of coaches’ requirements related to training, such as pool temperature, chlorine levels, and other relevant needs.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure the cleanliness of the swimming pools and surrounding areas.
Coordinate regularly with the Pest Control and Housekeeping Departments.
Follow up with the Maintenance Department on any malfunctions or damages and coordinate directly with the Maintenance Manager to resolve.
Coordinate with the Sports Activities Department regarding the use of swimming pools by different sports activities.
Coordinate with the Medical Department when first aid or medical assistance is required.
Submit periodic reports to the direct manager.
Take appropriate actions based on the daily reports submitted by subordinates.
Address members’ feedback and suggestions promptly and ensure any issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
Ensure members comply with swimming pool rules and regulations.
Ensure all lost and found items are properly secured, announced, and returned to their owners.
Prepare and present members-related issues to department managers and follow up on their issues until resolved.
Ensure staff maintain proper appearance and professional conduct when dealing with members.
Monitor the training plan for lifeguards and participate in conducting regular assessments to enhance their reaction speed and concentration levels.
Participate in evaluating employees’ performance and provide guidance to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job’s specialty.
Job Requirements
Educational background and previous experience:
Suitable bachelor’s degree or an equivalent field is preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the same field.
Knowledge and Functional Skills:
Strong planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Effective communication skills with departments and members to achieve the desired service level.
Ability to handle crises, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
Good knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
Solid understanding of lifeguard duties and swimming pool control procedures.
