Data Analyst (Entry-Level / Junior) – Role Description & Qualifications
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Entry-Level / Junior Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making through data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with data, identifying trends, and transforming information into meaningful insights that support business performance.
The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and organizing datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and usability. The role involves performing exploratory data analysis, identifying patterns and trends, and supporting the development of reports and dashboards that communicate key business insights clearly.
Key responsibilities include preparing datasets for analysis, generating regular and ad hoc reports, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). The analyst will also assist in validating data accuracy, supporting data quality improvements, and ensuring consistency across reporting systems.
The role includes working closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, define metrics, and deliver insights that support operational and strategic decisions. The analyst will also contribute to data visualization efforts, helping teams interpret complex information through clear charts, tables, and dashboards.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a structured approach to problem-solving. A solid foundation in statistics, logical reasoning, and data interpretation is essential for success in this role.
Candidates should have proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL or other basic data querying tools. Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is considered an advantage. Basic knowledge of Python or similar analytical tools is a plus but not required at entry level.
Strong communication skills are important for presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accuracy, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Understanding of data cleaning, aggregation, and reporting concepts is highly valued.
