Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Defense Specialist is responsible for protecting the organization’s systems and data by implementing security controls, identifying vulnerabilities, and supporting incident handling. The role focuses on strengthening the overall security posture through proactive and preventive measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage cybersecurity tools and controls (Endpoint Protection, EDR, Firewalls, Email Security)
- Support investigation and analysis of security incidents
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with relevant teams
- Conduct system and network security hardening activities
- Assist in identifying potential threats and security risks proactively
- Review and enhance security configurations across systems and infrastructure
- Support security assessments for endpoints, servers, and network devices
- Maintain documentation related to security incidents, controls, and improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure security best practices are followed
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in cybersecurity defense / security engineering
- Hands-on experience with security technologies (EDR, Firewalls, Antivirus, Email Security)
- Basic understanding of security monitoring and threat detection concepts
- Experience in vulnerability management and remediation processes
- Good understanding of operating systems, networking, and common attack techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
