Civil Technician Full Time NEW

The Civil Technician performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair of civil works and infrastructure. The role also includes providing technical support to site operations and ensuring work is executed according to project specifications and standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with safety requirements and coordinates with other departments as required.
• Manages and ensures availability of civil materials and resources for scheduled and planned activities.
• Ensures materials, tools, and equipment are available for work execution. Reports on resource utilization, work progress, scope changes, rework, or delays, while maintaining accurate activity logs.
• Assists in preparing and organizing site activities, ensuring permits, materials, tools, and equipment are in place in accordance with project schedules.
• Ensures all civil works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
• Inspects, monitors, and maintains civil structures such as concrete works, formwork, foundations, and finishing works.
• Upholds organizational Safety and QA/QC procedures and enforces them among the workforces.
• Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on civil elements, identifying defects and implementing repairs.
• Conducts site inspections and quality checks using appropriate tools and measuring instruments.
• Supports the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Adheres to safety regulations and ensures compliance with relevant standards in all aspects of work.
• Uses and maintains hand and power tools required for civil construction and maintenance activities.
• Assists in supervising site activities, including coordination with laborers and skilled workers.
• Monitors site progress and reports issues to minimize delays and ensure smooth workflow.
• Implements preventive maintenance and routine inspection of civil works.
• Coordinates with other departments for smooth execution of site activities.

Job Experience

0 to 2 years of experience

Education

Diploma in Civil Engineering or any related technical certification

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and civil engineering practices
• Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance
• Basic troubleshooting of site and structural issues
• Basic knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation
• Basic Root Cause Analysis
• Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP) is an advantage
