About the Role

Line Two is supporting a confidential, regulated fintech (BNPL) to hire a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define, build, secure, and scale the company’s end-to-end technology ecosystem. This role owns the long-term technology vision and execution, ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, regulator-ready, and innovation-driven as the business expands across Jordan and future regional markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and continuously evolve the company’s technology vision, principles, and roadmap aligned with business strategy.
• Translate business objectives into scalable architecture and execution plans; ensure long-term maintainability and cost efficiency.
• Own overall system architecture & platform ownership across:
• Customer applications
• Merchant platforms
• Core BNPL engines
• Internal operational systems
• APIs and partner ecosystems
• Ensure the platform is API-first, modular, and cloud-native; govern technical debt and architectural evolution.
• Oversee full product engineering lifecycle from concept to production; establish delivery governance, engineering KPIs, and release discipline.
• Lead security, compliance & regulatory readiness across technology controls, including access management, logging, audit trails, and incident response.
• Drive cloud & DevOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, disaster recovery) to ensure availability and resilience.
• Own data architecture and governance, enabling real-time reporting, analytics, and decision-making while ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.
• Lead technology governance & vendor management (standards, documentation, QA frameworks, third-party alignment).
• Build and scale a high-performing tech organization (org design, hiring, retention, culture, succession planning).
• Represent technology at executive/board level; support investor engagement, due diligence, and strategic partnerships.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering and technology leadership.
• Proven experience in fintech, banking, payments, lending, or regulated financial services.
• Prior leadership role as CTO / VP Engineering / Head of Technology (or equivalent).
• Strong experience scaling platforms through multiple growth stages.
• Strong hands-on background in:
• Backend systems (e.g., Java / Node.js / Python or similar)
• APIs and microservices architecture
• Relational and non-relational databases
• Solid understanding of:
• Financial transactions and credit flows
• Security architecture and cloud infrastructure
• Scalability and high-availability design
• Experience engaging with regulators/supervisory authorities; familiarity with fintech compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Exposure to MENA / emerging markets is a strong advantage.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Track record delivering AI/data/automation initiatives (risk engines, analytics, decisioning).
• Strong operational resilience mindset (BCP/DR, incident management, stability at scale).
• Experience building enterprise-grade security and technology risk frameworks.
