The Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school, following established routes and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Safe Transportation:
Operate the school bus in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
Ensure the safety of students during transit, including the use of seat belts and other safety measures.
Route Adherence:
Follow designated bus routes and schedules to pick up and drop off students at assigned locations.
Notify the transportation coordinator of any deviations or delays in the route.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus.
Report any mechanical issues or concerns promptly to the transportation coordinator.
Student Management:
Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
Enforce bus rules and discipline students as needed, reporting behavioral issues to school authorities.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Report any incidents or concerns related to students’ well-being during transportation.
Emergency Preparedness:
Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including evacuations and first aid if necessary.
Attend training sessions on emergency procedures and protocols.
Record Keeping:
Keep accurate records of daily routes, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
Complete and submit required reports to the transportation coordinator.
Customer Service:
Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, parents, and school staff.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with passengers.
Educational Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
Completion of a school bus driver training program.
Experience:
With 1-3 years experience with atleast 1-2 year of experience as a school bus driver
