Boat Workshop Supervisor Full Time NEW

Purpose of The Job:

To oversee, coordinate, and lead all maintenance, repair, and refurbishment activities within the boat workshop. The Supervisor ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and structural works, including fibre repair, engine overhauls (inboard/outboard), and marine electronics installation, are executed to the highest quality standards, on schedule, and in compliance with maritime safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent extensive hands-on experience).
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in boat/yacht maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a marine workshop.

• Technical Expertise:
• Proven hands-on experience in both mechanical and electrical repair of Inboard and Outboard boat engines.
• Strong background in fiberglass repair, fabrication, and marine painting processes.
• Demonstrated experience with marine hydraulics, electrical wiring, and navigation equipment.

Skills & Core Competencies:

• A) Technical Competencies:Dismantling & Refitting: High proficiency in safely removing and reinstalling structural and mechanical components (including steel reeling, lighting, hydraulic machinery, air vent pipes, window glass, anchor winches, antennas, etc.).
• Structural Maintenance: Expert knowledge in Boat Fender Repair and maintenance, as well as fixing fiber damages or fabricating new fiber components.
• Marine Electronics & Navigation: Capability to inspect, replace, and configure navigation lights, GPS devices, and required marine accessories.
• Safety & Preventive Maintenance: Solid knowledge of hazardous material handling, including cleaning fuel tanks and replacing required clamps/accessories safely.

B) Supervisory & Soft Skills:

• Leadership & Team Management: Ability to supervise a team of technicians, delegate daily tasks, monitor performance, and maintain high work ethics.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Sharp diagnostic skills to identify complex mechanical and electrical faults and provide efficient solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Technical Supervision & Executio:Fiberglass & Body Work: Oversee the repair of fiber damages, fabrication of new fiber components, and the entire marine painting and finishing process.
• Fender Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and maintain boat fenders to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
• Engine & Mechanical Repairs: Diagnose, service, and repair mechanical and electrical faults for both inboard and outboard boat engines.
• Electrical & Navigation Systems: Manage the replacement and installation of navigation lights, GPS systems, marine electronics, and required accessories as deemed necessary.
• Fuel System Maintenance: Ensure the safe cleaning of fuel tanks, along with the inspection and replacement of required clamps, hoses, and related accessories.

• 2. Workshop Management & Leadership:Task Delegation: Assign daily repair and maintenance tasks to the workshop technicians based on their skills and project priorities.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed jobs to ensure all repairs meet maritime standards, company quality guidelines, and client specifications before delivery.
• Project Scheduling: Monitor work progress and manage timelines to ensure boats are repaired and delivered within the agreed-upon deadlines.
• Inventory & Tool Management: Monitor workshop tools, machinery, and spare parts inventory; request necessary materials and components in advance to avoid project delays.

• 3. Safety & Compliance’s Implementation: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards within the workshop, especially during hazardous tasks like fuel tank cleaning and fiberglass painting.
• Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports on ongoing repairs, team performance, and workshop requirements for the upper management.
