Job Purpose
To lead, manage, and grow the branch in full compliance with Islamic Sharia principles, regulatory requirements of the Central Bank of Iraq, and internal bank policies. The Branch Manager is responsible for business development, operational excellence, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve branch financial targets (deposits, financing, fee income).
- Promote Islamic banking products
- Develop relationships with retail, SME, and corporate clients.
- Identify new market opportunities within the local area.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations issued by the Central Bank of Iraq.
- Implement AML/CFT policies in line with Iraqi laws.
- Ensure proper KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures.
- Ensure high-quality customer service standards.
- Ensure system uptime and coordination with IT teams.
- Lead, coach, and develop branch staff.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide branch staff effectively
- Comprehensive understanding of financial services, banking processes, and local market trends
- Customer relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in business strategy development, performance optimization, and achieving sales targets
- Familiarity with banking regulations, risk management practices, and financial compliance
- Proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience in a managerial position within a banking or financial institution
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, client-focused environment
- Minimum 8 years of banking experience.
- At least 3 years in a managerial role.
