Associate Consultant Position (Full time, Jordan-based)

We help governments and policymakers advance social capital through public policy transformation. We also help foundations, multilateral organisations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) further their social impact through strategy development and programme design. Our focus is on tackling social issues through long-term paths such as policy, entrepreneurship, and social investment rather than humanitarian approaches.

We are currently supporting the development and implementation of policies to enable the social and environmental sectors in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, in fields such as social finance, social policies, Islamic social finance, education, healthcare, urban development, sustainable infrastructure, climate finance, and sustainability. 

We are hiring a full time associate consultant to complement our team, supporting our on-going and upcoming projects. This is an Amman-based position and will involve travelling to support project implementation on-site in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and sometimes in other regions.

Successful candidates will work on a variety of policy and social issues, including operationalisation such as strategy development, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder engagement; working directly with key stakeholders and policy makers, and contribute to socio-economic development as well as sustainable development.

Your mission:

• You will be supporting the project team to ensure successful project acquisition and delivery
• You will lead work streams within consulting projects, managing client relationship, support effective project delivery, and work with key project stakeholders such as subject-matter experts
• You will support our on-going projects which involves:

• Effective execution of project workstreams in coordination with the project team
• Contributing to brainstorming and creative discussions internally as well as with our clients to address policy and social challenges
• Developing analytical frameworks and methodologies to address policy, social, organisational, and implementation challenges as part of the project scope
• Structuring and conducting research through secondary research as well as interviews and primary field-work research
• Engaging with social sector stakeholders through interviews, focus group discussions, and workshops
• Analysing, structuring, and summarising research findings and insights
• Representing visually insights, concepts, and approaches with effective and compelling design
• Presenting insights, concepts, and approaches to our team and our clients

• You will contribute to Dunecrest’s development effort in thought leadership and business development by working on publications and proposals which involves leading your team to:

• Supporting Dunecrest’s partners to develop their practice areas (Islamic Social Finance; Socio-Economic Development; Spatial Intelligence; Healthcare Innovation; Sustainable Infrastructure; People & Teams; Ecosystem Synergy)
• Developing analytical frameworks and methodologies to address project tender requirements
• Analysing, structuring, and summarising secondary research findings, data, and insights
• Representing visually data, analysis, insights, concepts, and approaches with effective and compelling design

Your profile and background:

• You are based in Jordan, preferably Amman
• You have graduated with a degree in Public Policy, Business, Finance, Environmental Studies, Engineering applies to environmental fields, Management, Economics, Urban Planning, Innovation, Social Development, or related discipline
• Prior experience in management consulting preferred
• You speak fluent English and Arabic. Due to the nature of our work, non-bilingual candidates will not be considered
• Experience in climate finance and sustainability is an advantage
• Experience in research related to socio-economic development and sustainability is an advantage
• You have a good mastery of AI tools to perform analysis and research
• You are able to support the delivery of high quality outcomes
• You are able to understand, simplify, and represent visually complex concepts with compelling design. Ability to produce good MS PowerPoint visuals and graphics would be an added advantage
• You have a good mastery of MS Excel to structure and analyse data, and design charts
• You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, fast-changing, and challenging environment where you will adapt to changes in project direction and requirements
• You possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, leadership potential, and an uncompromising work ethic
• You are comfortable working remotely with team members in different countries and time zones and travelling as and when required
• You are curious about social innovation, social impact, policy and strategy
