Air and Ocean Export Specialist Full Time

Role Description The Air and Ocean Export Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Sheraton El Matar. This role is responsible for managing export shipments by air and sea from booking to final delivery, ensuring compliance with international regulations and customer requirements. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing export documentation, coordinating with carriers and agents, arranging pickups and consolidations, and monitoring shipment status. The specialist will communicate with customers to provide quotations, shipment updates, and problem resolution, while collaborating closely with internal operations, finance, and customer service teams. The role also involves verifying freight charges, supporting customs and regulatory procedures, and contributing to process improvements that enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in air and ocean export operations, including booking shipments, coordinating with airlines, ocean carriers, and freight forwarders, and tracking cargo through to destination.
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, export documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills), Incoterms, and basic customs requirements.
• Proficiency with logistics and shipment management systems, as well as MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook), to handle bookings, documentation, and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, carriers, and internal teams in a professional and service-oriented manner.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle shipment exceptions, delays, and service issues while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Sheraton El Matar and collaborate effectively within a diverse, cross-functional team.
• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain is strongly preferred; a relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree (e.g., Logistics, Business, Supply Chain) is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of English for international communication; additional language skills are a plus.
