The Ben-Gurion Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism is seeking an experienced Academic Publishing Manager to lead its publishing activities and oversee the production of high-quality scholarly books and journals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Institute’s publishing house.
- Develop and oversee the annual work plan and budget.
- Coordinate the editorial and production process for academic books and journals.
- Manage editing, proofreading, graphic design, printing, distribution, and marketing activities.
- Serve as Secretary to the Publishing Board.
- Work closely with editors, designers, printers, and other external service providers.
- Manage publishing agreements, copyrights, permissions, and legal documentation.
- Collaborate with internal university departments to ensure efficient publication processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Social Sciences.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in academic publishing or scholarly editing.
- Excellent English proficiency.
- Experience in management or project coordination – an advantage.
- Certificate in language editing – an advantage.
