Project Director – Oil & Gas (EPC) Full Time NEW

We are seeking an experienced Project Director – Oil & Gas (EPC) to lead and oversee full project execution across multidisciplinary engineering scopes including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and fire & gas systems.

The role involves full responsibility for managing the complete project lifecycle from engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring compliance with HSE policies, company procedures, and applicable oil & gas industry regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all project activities in compliance with HSE policies, company procedures, and applicable oil & gas industry regulations.
• Ensure safe design, installation, commissioning, and operation of oil & gas facilities through proper engineering practices and protection systems.
• Lead and oversee all project disciplines including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and fire & gas systems, ensuring full integration and alignment.
• Monitor and ensure optimal performance and availability of plant/process equipment including pipelines, compressors, and process units.
• Prepare detailed technical, progress, and performance reports to support management decision-making and project execution control.
• Ensure achievement of project objectives related to quality, cost, schedule, HSE, and environmental compliance.
• Maintain and update as-built drawings, P&IDs, and all relevant technical documentation.
• Initiate and implement Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, QA/QC, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Monitor and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production targets, downtime, maintenance efficiency, and safety performance.
• Support HSE team in implementing safety procedures, risk assessments, emergency response plans, and permit-to-work systems.
• Identify project and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies in line with industry best practices.
• Perform engineering calculations, feasibility studies, design reviews, inspections, and supervision of project activities.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination among multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
• Conduct technical meetings, progress reviews, and coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Manage technical documentation including drawings, specifications, manuals, and reports through proper document control systems.
• Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and company procedures throughout all project phases.
• Oversee procurement and material management activities to ensure timely delivery in line with project schedules.
• Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities to ensure safe and successful project handover.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to secure approvals, permits, and milestone achievements.

Authorities & Accountabilities

• Authorized to run and manage projects with maximum efficiency.
• Authorized to review and approve daily project reports.
• Accountable for implementation of company QHSE policies and procedures.
• Authorized to review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating pricing-related data where applicable.
• Responsible for managing pricing procedures and improving operational efficiency.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred or related discipline).
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in oil & gas EPC projects.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and large-scale projects.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of latest oil & gas industry standards, safety regulations, and project execution practices.

Skills / Additional Requirements

• Strong knowledge of full project lifecycle: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC).
• Experience managing refineries, pipelines, gas processing plants, or petrochemical projects.
• Expertise in project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
• Proficiency in contract management and claims handling.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and people management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team-building capabilities.
