Work purpose

Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for mechanical, piping, civil, and E&I works in a live brownfield refinery environment. Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of compressor installations and associated systems in compliance with project specifications and client standards.

Duties & responsibilities

• Site Oversight: Oversee day-to-day site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project schedule, priorities, and safety standards.
• Team Management: Manage and coordinate multi-discipline field teams (Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation).
• Execution Strategy: Lead brownfield execution strategy, including work in live units under strict SIMOPS conditions.
• Shutdown Management: Plan and execute shutdown/turnaround activities, including 24/7 shift coordination and resource allocation.
• Compliance & Quality: Ensure strict adherence to approved method statements, ITPs, and client standards (SABIC / Aramco).
• Technical Supervision: Supervise mechanical equipment installation (compressors, skids, piping) and coordinate critical piping works, including hot taps and tie-ins.
• Safety & Permits: Ensure effective Permit to Work (PTW) compliance and safe execution in hazardous areas (including $H_2S$ zones).
• Operations Coordination: Lead SIMOPS coordination with operations and other contractors to avoid conflicts.
• Heavy Lifting: Manage and oversee heavy lifting and rigging operations, including large-capacity cranes (e.g., 150T+).
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track construction progress, monitor contractor manpower/productivity, and provide accurate updates and forecasts to project management.
• Handover: Oversee mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and handover to commissioning teams.
• Stakeholder Relations: Interface with client representatives, consultants, and EPC stakeholders for approvals and coordination.

Required competences

• Expertise in Brownfield Refinery environments and SIMOPS coordination.
• Strong leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams (Civil, Mech, E&I).
• In-depth knowledge of SABIC/Aramco standards and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in project progress tracking and resource forecasting.
• Advanced understanding of heavy lifting, rigging, and $H_2S$ zone safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Extensive experience in mechanical completion and compressor installations.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale shutdowns and turnaround activities.
