Job Title: QA/QC Mechanical Completion Engineer
Job Description
In this function, QA/QC – Mechanical Completion Engineer –is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems, equipment, and construction activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety and quality standards, and regulatory requirements before handover to commissioning. The role focuses on mechanical completion (MC) activities for assigned systems and subsystems for projects such as oil & gas facilities, pipelines, refineries, utilities, EPC projects, and industrial plants located in Majnoon.
Support and promote project HSSE requirements within mechanical completions activities, line walk and inspections.
QA/QC Mechanical Completion Engineer reports to Site QA/QC Lead and has a reporting line to the Quality Assurance Discipline.
Roles And Responsibilities
Develop and implement the Mechanical Completion (MC) Plan, procedures, and execution strategy. Define MC packages, system boundaries, sub-systems, and test limits in coordination with Engineering. Oversee systemization of mechanical equipment and ensure tag integration with the project database Lead and coordinate Mechanical completion (MC) activities for assigned systems and subsystems Verify that construction works meet the mechanical completion criteria as per project specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, datasheets, and engineering drawings. Track and manage MC status, punch lists, and readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning. Ensure system walkdowns are completed and documented. Review all project Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation and Telecom, HVAC, Fire and Gas Documentations such as ITP, Procedure, MS, Specification, Data Sheets, etc. Ensure completion of pressure tests, leak tests, flushing, cleaning, drying, and other mechanical discipline tests. Ensure the inspection and reporting of all project Ex certified (ATEX) electrical, instrumentation, telecom, Fire and Gas, HVAC equipment as per IEC 60079. Join line walk and identify and close punch items Ensure all system and subsystem design changes are captured, non-conformances are closed in accordance with procedures. Ensure all required MC documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted, including: Test records, Material certificates, Inspection reports, As-built documentation
Act as the focal point between construction, quality, engineering, and commissioning teams. Coordinate walkdowns for MC activities involving stakeholders such as contractors, QC, client representatives, and commissioning leads. Resolve interface issues between disciplines to ensure smooth progress towards MC and handover.
