Job Overview

The Backup Solutions Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of enterprise backup and data protection solutions to ensure data availability, integrity, and recoverability across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role provides technical leadership, ensures compliance with business continuity and disaster recovery objectives, and aligns backup strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Own and maintain backup architecture for physical, virtual, containerized, and cloud workloads.
• Manage and optimize backup platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, and DLO .
• Manage and Optimize backup storages / Data Domain , ExaGrid and Huawei .
• Define, enforce, and maintain backup policies, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO requirements and business continuity plans.
• Oversee backup operations, monitoring, reporting, and incident management.
• Plan and execute restoration testing and disaster recovery drills.
• Lead ransomware protection strategies, including immutable backups and cyber recovery solutions.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and solution roadmaps.
• Lead, mentor, and develop backup and data protection engineers.
• Support audits, regulatory compliance, and security assessments.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and technology lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• +7 years of experience in IT infrastructure with strong focus on backup and data protection.
• Proven hands-on experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Strong understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage).
• Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with application-aware backups.
• Additional knowledge of cloud backup solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) is plus .

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in backup solutions is plus.
• Commvault Professional or Dell PowerProtect certifications.
• Experience in banking, or large enterprise environments.
