Position Summary
The Design Producer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the drafting and technical drawing process for all the services. This role involves ensuring that all technical drawings and doentation meet project specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Coordination:
•Completion of tasks, provide technical guidance, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
•Facilitate regular meetings to review work progress and resolve drafting-related issues.
•Ensure clear communication between draftsmen and design teams.
2. Quality Control:
•Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance of technical drawings with design specifications.
•Ensure that all drawings meet industry standards and the company’s quality requirements.
•Conduct detailed inspections of drafted doents for accuracy in dimensions, materials, and project scope.
3.Project Coordination:
•Collaborate closely with lead designer, designers, and clients to gather design specifications, project goals, and technical requirements.
•Provide draftsmen with the necessary project details and technical specifications.
•Ensure that drafts are aligned with the conceptual vision and are in sync with the overall project timeline.
•Responsible for supporting the execution department with ‘as-built’ drawings & technical drawings when required.
•May require conducting site visits for measurements.
4. Resource & Workflow Management:
•Develop drafting schedules and allocate resources efficiently to ensure timely project completion.
•Manage the drafting workload and prioritize tasks based on project deadlines and client needs.
•Coordinate with external draftsmen or freelancers when additional resources are needed.
5. Training & Development:
•Provide training and mentorship to junior draftsmen on best practices, software, and tools used for drafting.
•Keep the team updated on new technologies, software, and methods in the drafting and design field.
6. Software & Tools:
•Ensure all draftsmen are proficient in the required drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Max, SketchUp).
•Manage and maintain a library of templates, standards, and resources for the drafting team.
7. Problem-Solving & Risk Management:
•Identify and resolve issues that arise during the drafting process, such as design discrepancies or technical challenges.
•Address any client concerns related to the technical aspects of the design doentation.
