Role Description This full-time, on-site MLRO – Compliance & Risk Management Officer role is based in Manama and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of anti–money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and regulatory compliance within the brokerage. The role includes establishing, maintaining, and continuously updating AML and compliance policies in line with CBB regulations and international best practices. The MLRO will monitor transactions and client activities, review alerts and suspicious activity reports, and file regulatory reports as required. Day-to-day tasks include performing risk assessments, conducting enterprise risk reviews, and providing advice on market, operational, and regulatory risks. The officer will also lead compliance training for staff, coordinate internal and external audits, respond to regulator inquiries, and support management with compliance reporting and risk mitigation plans.
Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance, including CBB rules, AML/CTF regulations, and insurance sector guidelines.
• Experience in Market Risk and Enterprise Risk Management, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate key risks across the brokerage.
• Proven Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, trend analysis, and preparation of clear compliance and risk reports.
• Solid foundation in Finance, particularly within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, FRM) are an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in an MLRO, Compliance Officer, or Risk Officer role within financial services or insurance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with regulators, senior management, and internal teams.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities on-site in Manama.
