Steel Design Engineer
Location: Ardiya,Kuwait
We are seeking an experienced Steel Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Kuwait. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of structural steel systems for industrial and commercial projects while ensuring compliance with applicable international design standards and project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of proven experience in structural steel design and engineering.
- Strong proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, and related structural analysis software.
- Experience in the design of industrial buildings, warehouses, platforms, steel structures, and supporting systems.
- Good knowledge of AISC, BS, Eurocode, or other relevant international design standards.
- Experience in preparing structural calculations, MTOs, and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, including industrial buildings, warehouses, platforms, pipe racks, and miscellaneous steel works.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, engineering reports, and technical documentation.
- Develop structural design solutions in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Carry out Material Take-Offs (MTO) and quantity estimations for project execution and procurement activities.
- Review engineering drawings, design deliverables, and fabrication details to ensure technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with detailing, fabrication, procurement, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, erection, and site execution activities.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering exercises, and technical discussions with clients and consultants.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements.
