Algebra builds and operates AI-powered workflows for mid-market companies as a managed service. We identify high-value operational processes, design AI systems to run them, and own the outcome end to end. We are not consultants. We do not sell software licenses. We are the accountable operator.

The Role

This is a strategy internship built around special projects. There is no fixed job description because the work will follow what is most important at the time. One month you may be mapping a new vertical for acquisition. The next you may be building the market analysis that shapes a board conversation.

You will own your projects, not support someone else’s. That means framing the question, doing the research, forming a view, and presenting it. The CEO will be your primary stakeholder.

If you want a structured rotation with defined deliverables and weekly check-ins, this is not the right fit. If you want real problems, real access, and work that actually influences decisions – this is.

What You’ll Work On

Projects will vary. Examples of the type of work you can expect:

Market and Vertical Strategy

• Map acquisition targets in UAE/MENA professional services – accounting, payroll, tax, compliance, corporate secretarial
• Analyze market structure, fragmentation, and pricing dynamics in target verticals
• Build the investment thesis for a new vertical – market size, competitive landscape, unit economics, and strategic fit
• Research comparable roll-up platforms globally and extract what applies to Algebra’s model

Corporate Development Support

• Build financial models and benchmarks for acquisition targets
• Research deal structures, valuation multiples, and financing approaches in M&A
• Prepare materials for investor and board conversations

Strategic Analysis

• Analyze Algebra’s competitive positioning – who else is doing this, where we are differentiated, and where we are exposed
• Build frameworks for use case prioritization, vertical selection, or ICP refinement
• Research AI-native services businesses globally – what they are building, how they are priced, and how they scale

What We’re Looking For

• Current MBA student, ideally with an undergraduate background in finance, economics, or a related field
• You have worked in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a similar analytical role before your MBA
• You can structure a problem from scratch – break it down, identify what matters, and build toward a clear answer
• Strong financial modeling skills – you are comfortable building a model, not just reading one
• You write clearly and concisely; you can put a recommendation on one page and defend it
• You are comfortable with ambiguity – not every project will come with a clear brief

Bonus Points

• You have worked on M&A transactions or market entry projects 
• You have a view on AI and what it does to professional services businesses – and you can argue it
• You have worked inside a startup or early-stage business, not just advised one

What This Role Is Not

This is not a research assistant role. You will not be summarizing articles or formatting decks for someone else. You will own the work.

This is not a rotational program with guaranteed exposure to every function. The work will go where the business needs it.
